Bathtub Wall Surrounds In Kingston, MA
We Fit Every Surround To Your Exact Tub, Then Seal The Seams So Water Stays Out Of The Wall
Sealed Panels Wrap Your Tub With No Grout Lines To Scrub, Darken, Or Recaulk
A tub surround takes a beating. Steam, splashing, and years of scrubbing wear down old tile grout until it stains and lets water slip behind the wall. That is usually the moment a homeowner starts looking at bathtub wall surrounds in Kingston, MA.
Panels solve the grout problem at the source. They seal at the seams, so there is no grid of joints to darken, crack, or harbor mold. We start by measuring your tub area in person—never off a catalog template.
Then we pull the old wall, inspect what is behind it, and custom-fit the new surround to the space you actually have. Bay State Bath specializes exclusively in bath transformations, keeping one skilled crew on your project from the first cut to the final bead of sealant without subcontractor handoffs.
How We Install Bathtub Wall Surrounds In Kingston, MA
Here’s our process for a bathtub wall surround project in Plymouth County, MA, from the old wall coming down to the final sealed edge.

We Measure The Tub Area In Person
First, a technician visits your home to measure the three walls surrounding your bathtub. We evaluate for out-of-square corners, inspect existing plumbing, and check for hidden wall moisture.
Measuring on-site ensures your non-porous acrylic panels are custom-molded to your exact dimensions, guaranteeing a flush fit with zero awkward gaps.
We Remove The Old Surround & Inspect The Cavity
Next, we remove the existing tile or surround down to the studs. With the wall cavity exposed, we inspect the framing and backer board for hidden water damage, soft spots, or rot caused by failed grout.
If we encounter damage, we present our findings immediately and integrate structural repairs into the project scope before panel installation begins.
We Prep The Cavity & Install Waterproof Backing
We then square up the framing and install a moisture-resistant backer board for the acrylic panels to bond with. A solid, level foundation prevents wall panels from flexing, shifting, or lifting along the edges over time.
Skipping this critical structural step is never an option.
We Fit The Panels & Apply Waterproof Sealant
Finally, we precision-fit the surround panels and run a continuous, high-grade waterproof sealant along every seam and corner. Joined without grout, your new surround provides an airtight moisture barrier that wipes clean effortlessly and never requires seasonal recaulking or regrouting.
Choices That Shape Your Bathtub Wall Surround Project In Kingston, MA
A couple of early decisions determine how your bathtub wall surrounds look in Plymouth County, MA, and how much upkeep they require.

Selecting Your Panel Finish
Wall surrounds are available in a variety of aesthetic options, ranging from smooth solid tones to rich stone and marble textures. Lighter finishes help smaller bathrooms feel open and bright, while bolder patterns create a striking focal point.
Every finish utilizes the same non-porous acrylic material, so your decision is purely visual rather than functional.
Adding Built-In Recessed Shelving
You can integrate custom recessed niches directly into your wall surround to keep shampoo, soap, and accessories organized without hanging clunky caddies. We frame, back, and seal each shelf as a continuous component of the surround wall, ensuring complete watertight integrity.
Surround-Only vs. Complete Tub Replacement
If your current bathtub is structurally sound, a surround-only installation refreshes your wet area without disturbing the tub base. If your tub is chipped, cracked, or discolored, replacing it while the wall cavity is open provides a total wet-area reset.
We’ll assess your fixture during the in-home measurement and provide honest guidance on the best path forward.

We would definitely recommend them to everyone we know and…
We lived everyone's worst nightmare - coming home from vacation to find that our toilet leaked from upstairs into our kitchen! Luckily, we had a happy ending with the help of Bay State Bath! We contacted them after getting some quotes from other local vendors that we were not satisfied with. Bay State took care of everything from design to installation! Donna came to our home and helped us pick out the materials for our new bathroom and once we got everything settled with our insurance, Bay State coordinated all of the vendors who installed new flooring, a tub and toilet, walls and fixtures and paint. We now have an updated and beautiful bathroom that was installed quickly. They also re-installed our kitchen cabinets and repaired our kitchen ceiling. We would definitely recommend them to everyone we know and will use them in the future when we are ready to renovate our second bath.
They will do everything they can to ensure that you…
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Bay State Bath. From Jim, the initial rep who came to my house, to Victor and Denny, who performed the installation, my experience was top notch. I had been expecting a high pressure sales pitch for extras I didn't want or need. Instead, Jim and I had a nuanced conversation about the pros and cons of various products, and whether certain upgrades were worth the extra cost. I opted for a slightly broader scope than originally intended, and am happy I did, as it brought my bathroom out of 1971 and into the 21st century, while retaining the charm of some of the original blue tile. Jim was very generous with his time in discussing various designs and color choices with me. Additionally, I received an estimate from another company that was several thousand dollars higher with a somewhat high pressure sales pitch. The rep wasn't even interested in showing me their catalog unlees I made a soft commitment. This experience reassured me that I had been quoted a fair price by Bay State. Victor and Denny appreciated my desire to preserve the integrity of the blue tile, and did a beautiful job of connecting the new tub and new surround with the vintage blue tile. Truly skilled workmanship from these two who made so many little extra touches. My new shower is incredible. The texture of the water feels softer...a bit like being massaged by tiny fingers. A visiting friend stated it was the best shower they had ever had! I highly recommend this company. They will do everything they can to ensure that you are happy with their work.
Everyone was excellent to deal with, from the salesperson to the demo team
We made the decision to convert our bathroom tub to a walk in shower, we researched a number of companies and settled on Bay State Bath, we made the right choice! Everyone was excellent to deal with, from the salesperson to the demo team, to the installers and even the office staff. They listened to what we wanted, gave us some ideas and put together a plan for our conversion. We ran into an unexpected/unforeseen issue with the drain under the floor as the demolition was underway, but the team figured out a way to redesign on the fly, reworked the plan and completed the project beautifully. Things we wanted, a wider shower area (no tub), shelves that were out of the way, grab bars, sliding glass doors and a bench to sit on. We ended up with all of that with and a design that matched the rest of our bathroom perfectly. We highly recommend Bay State Bath for a bathroom renovation and would 100% use them again for another project. Many thanks to the entire BSB team!
Bathtub Wall Surround Questions From Kingston, MA Homeowners
Straight answers to what people ask most when they start planning a new tub surround.
Do you install just the surround, or the whole bathroom?
A: We offer both targeted wet-area upgrades and complete bathroom renovations. A surround installation updates your bathing corner independently, while a full remodel addresses vanities, flooring, and layouts throughout the entire room.
How long does a bathtub wall surround install take?
A: Most bathtub wall surround installations are completed in just one day™. If removing the old wall reveals hidden framing, rot, or subfloor water damage, our crew resolves those structural issues first and provides an updated timeline upfront.
How much do bathtub wall surrounds cost in Kingston, MA?
A: Total project cost depends on the dimensions of your tub alcove, selected panel finishes, and any structural repairs required behind the original wall. We provide a guaranteed written proposal based on your in-home measurement before work begins.
What happens if you find damage behind the old surround?
A: Once the old walls are removed, we thoroughly inspect the wall cavity. If we find soft framing or historic water intrusion, we show you the problem and fold the necessary structural repair into the written scope before installing the new surround over sound backing.
Which areas do you serve?
A: We install bathtub wall surrounds in Kingston, MA, throughout Plymouth County, and across surrounding South Shore communities. Our local presence ensures prompt scheduling, familiar code compliance, and dedicated service.
Why panels instead of tile and grout?
A: Acrylic panels seal continuously along every seam rather than relying on porous grout lines that absorb water, stain, and crack. Panels eliminate scrubbing and provide a non-porous, mold-resistant surface that wipes clean with mild soap and water.
