Bay State Bath remodels bathrooms for homeowners in Boston, MA. We stay in one lane: bath remodeling. That covers tub replacements, shower upgrades, tub-to-shower conversions, bathtub wall surrounds, shower base and wall installation, aging-in-place remodels, and full bathroom remodels. Every job runs on a written scope with a single crew, and our surfaces are built to shed water and wipe down fast.
Bathroom Remodel In Boston, MA
We Set Every Panel Level And Sealed So Your Bath Drains Right The First TimeOne Crew Runs Your Project From The In-Home Measure To The Last Caulk Line
A tired bathroom shows up in small ways first. Grout that won’t come clean, a tub with a stain that won’t scrub out, a shower base that flexes underfoot. A bathroom remodel in Boston, MA puts those daily headaches behind you.
We work on bathrooms and nothing else. That focus is why our installs sit level and stay sealed. We don’t squeeze a bath job between a kitchen and a deck.
Homes in our area aren’t built the same way twice. A brick row house in the South End and a glass condo near the harbor have different plumbing runs, wall depths, and floor conditions. We measure each one before ordering a single material, so the plan fits the house you actually have.
Every project starts in your bathroom with an accurate measurement. We check the plumbing, the wall condition, and the subfloor, then write a scope you approve before demolition. One crew handles the work through to the final seal. No handoffs, no open-ended timeline.
By the time we’re done, you have a room that drains right, seals tight, and takes seconds to keep clean. That’s what we build, and that’s all we build.
Bath Remodeling Services For Boston, MA
Bay State Bath works inside one service group: bath remodeling. Here are the four projects homeowners ask us for most.

Full Bathroom Remodels
A full bathroom remodel resets the room’s working parts in one coordinated project. That means the tub or shower, wall surround, base, fixtures, and often the vanity and flooring.
We set a fixed scope before demolition, so you know what’s included from the first meeting. One crew runs the whole thing so the finishes line up and the seams stay tight.
Tub-To-Shower Conversions
Trading a tub you never use for a walk-in shower opens the floor and drops the step-in height. We remove the old tub, inspect what’s behind it, then install a new base and sealed walls set level. It’s a strong move for tight baths and for anyone who wants easier daily use. The room feels bigger the day we finish.
Shower Base & Wall Installation
Your shower base sets the entry height and how solid the floor feels underfoot. We install the base level and seal the walls so water goes where it should and nowhere else. The panels wipe clean and skip the grout lines that trap grime. It’s a focused upgrade that fixes a leaky, dated shower without touching the rest of the room.
Bathtub Wall Surrounds
A bathtub wall surround covers the walls around your tub with sealed panels that shed water and wipe down fast. No grout to scrub, no seams to fail. We match the finish and panel style to the room, then set everything tight to the tub edge. It’s one of the quickest ways to refresh a bathroom you still use for bathing.
Focused Bath Upgrades For Boston, MA
Not every bathroom needs a full teardown. When only one part of the room is dated, a targeted swap gets you a fresh space faster. We also handle bathrooms built for easier, safer daily use.

Tub Replacements
When a tub is cracked, chipped, or simply past its years, a straight replacement refreshes the room without reworking the layout.
We pull the old unit, check the wall cavity and subfloor behind it, and set the new tub level and sealed. We test the plumbing connections before we close things up. It’s a clean fix for one worn fixture, keeping the rest of your bathroom untouched and your project short.
Shower Replacements & Upgrades
A shower with failing grout or a dingy surround drags the whole room down. We replace the unit with sealed panels and a level base, so the space looks sharp and stays easy to clean.
This is a good route when the shower is the problem, but the footprint works fine. We inspect behind the old walls first, then build back with water-shedding surfaces that hold up in a room that stays damp.
Aging-In-Place Remodels
An aging-in-place remodel makes daily bathing easier and the room simpler to navigate. A low-threshold shower base, a seated shower option, and a layout with more clear floor space all help.
We plan each detail around how you use the room now and later. We set everything level and seal it the same careful way as any other project, so the safety upgrades hold up over time.
Why Homeowners Pick Bay State Bath
Choosing who remodels your bathroom in Suffolk County, MA comes down to how the project is run and who stays on it start to finish. Here’s how we operate on every job.
- Bath-Only Focus. We build only bathrooms. That’s why our installs sit level and stay sealed every time. We don’t switch between roofs, kitchens, and baths. The whole team knows water-shedding surfaces and tight seals inside and out.
- A Written Scope Before Demolition. You get a defined scope before any wall comes down. That means no open-ended timeline and no mid-job cost surprises. You approve what’s included and what it involves before the first tool comes out.
- One Crew, Whole Job. The same crew handles your project from the in-home measure through the final caulk line. No subcontractor handoffs partway through. One team owns the result, so accountability never gets passed around.
- Built For The Area’s Housing Mix. We work in older homes and newer condos across the city. Tight spaces, odd plumbing runs, and shallow wall depths are familiar ground. We measure the house you have, then match materials to it.
- Surfaces Made To Wipe Down. We build with sealed, water-shedding materials that skip the grout lines where grime collects. In a room that stays damp, that means less scrubbing and a finish that holds up. Easy upkeep is baked into what we install.
Every one of these shows up on the job, not in a sales pitch. And every homeowner gets the same approach.

We lived everyone's worst nightmare - coming home from vacation to find that our toilet leaked from upstairs into our kitchen! Luckily, we had a happy ending with the help of Bay State Bath! We contacted them after getting some quotes from other local vendors that we were not satisfied with. Bay State took care of everything from design to installation! Donna came to our home and helped us pick out the materials for our new bathroom and once we got everything settled with our insurance, Bay State coordinated all of the vendors who installed new flooring, a tub and toilet, walls and fixtures and paint. We now have an updated and beautiful bathroom that was installed quickly. They also re-installed our kitchen cabinets and repaired our kitchen ceiling. We would definitely recommend them to everyone we know and will use them in the future when we are ready to renovate our second bath.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Bay State Bath. From Jim, the initial rep who came to my house, to Victor and Denny, who performed the installation, my experience was top notch. I had been expecting a high pressure sales pitch for extras I didn't want or need. Instead, Jim and I had a nuanced conversation about the pros and cons of various products, and whether certain upgrades were worth the extra cost. I opted for a slightly broader scope than originally intended, and am happy I did, as it brought my bathroom out of 1971 and into the 21st century, while retaining the charm of some of the original blue tile. Jim was very generous with his time in discussing various designs and color choices with me. Additionally, I received an estimate from another company that was several thousand dollars higher with a somewhat high pressure sales pitch. The rep wasn't even interested in showing me their catalog unlees I made a soft commitment. This experience reassured me that I had been quoted a fair price by Bay State. Victor and Denny appreciated my desire to preserve the integrity of the blue tile, and did a beautiful job of connecting the new tub and new surround with the vintage blue tile. Truly skilled workmanship from these two who made so many little extra touches. My new shower is incredible. The texture of the water feels softer...a bit like being massaged by tiny fingers. A visiting friend stated it was the best shower they had ever had! I highly recommend this company. They will do everything they can to ensure that you are happy with their work.
We couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend!
Jennifer Bylo and the entire team at Bay State Bath were incredible to work with. From the very beginning, they were timely, prompt, meticulous, and completely client-centered. Communication was excellent, and every step of the process was clearly explained and efficiently executed. Plumber Ian was especially helpful — he kept me up to date throughout the entire process, from pulling the necessary permits to meeting with inspectors. His attention to detail and clear communication gave me total peace of mind. Fabio and Renato were absolutely fantastic. They worked tirelessly and didn’t leave until the job was completely done — and done right. They replaced our old 1980s tub with a beautiful new walk-in shower and even addressed some unexpected water damage they discovered during the renovation. They made sure everything was properly repaired, cleaned up thoroughly, and left the space spotless. This was a big upgrade for our home, and Bay State Bath delivered beyond expectations. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend
Bathroom Remodel FAQ For Boston, MA
Straight answers to the questions we hear most from homeowners planning a bath project.
How does a bathroom remodel project get started?
A: It begins with an in-home measure. We come to your bathroom, measure the space, and check the plumbing, wall condition, and subfloor. Then we write a scope and match materials to your budget and how you use the room. We don’t order anything until you approve the plan.
How much does a bathroom remodel in Boston, MA cost?
A: Cost tracks with the scope, the materials you choose, and the condition behind your old walls. A single tub-to-shower conversion costs much less than a full remodel with new fixtures, a vanity, and flooring. We price the job only after the in-home measure, so the number reflects your actual room, not an estimate over the phone.
Should I do a full remodel or just replace the shower?
A: It depends on how much of the room is dated. If only the shower or tub has failed and the layout still works, a focused replacement gets you a fresh room faster and for less. If the fixtures, surfaces, and flooring are all worn, a full bathroom remodel resets everything in one coordinated project.
What happens if there’s rot or damage behind the old tub or walls?
A: We inspect the wall cavity and subfloor once the old unit is out. If we find rot or water damage, we show you the problem and explain what it takes to fix it before we build back. Nothing gets covered up. Handling it right is what keeps the new install sealed and level.
What kinds of bathroom projects do you handle?
A: We handle bath remodeling in several forms. That includes tub replacements, shower replacements and upgrades, tub-to-shower conversions, bathtub wall surrounds, shower base and wall installation, aging-in-place remodels, and full bathroom remodels.
We build only bathrooms, which keeps the whole team focused on sealed, level installs.
Which communities do you serve?
A: We serve communities across the South Shore. We also serve nearby areas, including Quincy, Weymouth, Franklin, Peabody, and Marshfield. Check the full service area list to confirm we cover your town.
