How We Handle A Tub-To-Shower Conversion In Kingston, MA
Here’s the path a tub-to-shower conversion takes in Plymouth County, MA, from the initial measurement to the finished shower.

We Measure The Bathroom In Person
First, we visit your home to measure the tub alcove and trace the plumbing behind it. We evaluate drain placement, supply line alignment, and wall framing. Measuring on-site ensures the custom base and wall surrounds fit your exact footprint, eliminating awkward gaps and post-install patching.
You Approve The Scope & Price
Next, we provide a detailed written plan that outlines your shower base, wall panels, hardware, and the total project cost. You review and approve the proposal before any work begins. Fixing the scope upfront ensures there are no surprise line items after the tub is removed, so you know the exact cost before demolition day.
We Pull The Tub & Check Behind It
Once approved, we remove the existing tub and inspect the open wall cavity. We examine the studs, subfloor, and plumbing for concealed moisture or framing wear. Identifying structural issues while walls are open prevents future failures. We explain any necessary repairs before installing the new shower base.
We Set The Base Level & Seal The Walls
Finally, we set the shower base precisely level so water flows directly into the drain without pooling. We anchor non-porous wall panels and apply high-grade sealant along every seam. A level foundation prevents subfloor flexing, while seamless wall panels wipe clean without grout maintenance.
Options To Decide On For Your Tub-To-Shower Conversion In Kingston, MA
A few choices shape how your new walk-in shower looks and works day to day.

Picking Your Step-In Height
Replacing a traditional bathtub drastically improves shower accessibility. We offer low-profile thresholds that eliminate high tub walls, as well as barrier-free bases designed for seamless entry. We size the threshold based on your current mobility needs and long-term plans for the home.
Choosing Your Wall Panels
Your conversion features non-porous acrylic wall panels in place of traditional tile and grout. Smooth panels wipe clean easily and prevent moisture accumulation along seams. You select the pattern and color finish, and our team precision-fits each panel flush to the base with continuous waterproof sealants.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Bay State Bath. From Jim, the initial rep who came to my house, to Victor and Denny, who performed the installation, my experience was top notch. I had been expecting a high pressure sales pitch for extras I didn't want or need. Instead, Jim and I had a nuanced conversation about the pros and cons of various products, and whether certain upgrades were worth the extra cost. I opted for a slightly broader scope than originally intended, and am happy I did, as it brought my bathroom out of 1971 and into the 21st century, while retaining the charm of some of the original blue tile. Jim was very generous with his time in discussing various designs and color choices with me. Additionally, I received an estimate from another company that was several thousand dollars higher with a somewhat high pressure sales pitch. The rep wasn't even interested in showing me their catalog unlees I made a soft commitment. This experience reassured me that I had been quoted a fair price by Bay State. Victor and Denny appreciated my desire to preserve the integrity of the blue tile, and did a beautiful job of connecting the new tub and new surround with the vintage blue tile. Truly skilled workmanship from these two who made so many little extra touches. My new shower is incredible. The texture of the water feels softer...a bit like being massaged by tiny fingers. A visiting friend stated it was the best shower they had ever had! I highly recommend this company. They will do everything they can to ensure that you are happy with their work.
The quality of materials are excellent and so easy to maintain
I spent a few weeks researching companies to redo my bath, and the expense was more than I had expected. I saw Bay State Bath commercial and thought I would check them out on their website. I am so glad I did! From start to finish, my experience was nothing but great. The rep they sent out was fabulous, the installers were thorough and efficient. The quality of materials are excellent and so easy to maintain. I got a follow up call to see how my experience was and was encouraged to reach out with any problem I have in the future. Thank you Bay State Bath.
